Request for Information (RFI) for Case Management Services for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities and Individuals with Brain Injuries

The Vermont Agency of Human Services (AHS) and the Department of Disability, Aging and Independent Living (DAIL) developed a Request for Information (RFI) for Case Management Services for Developmental Services (DS) and the Brain Injury Program (BIP). The purpose of this RFI is to gather input and information from stakeholders and from organizations who may be interested in delivering Case Management Services for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities and Individuals with Brain Injuries in Vermont.

State Unit Operations Team Leader

Vermont’s Department of Disabilities, Aging & Independent Living is seeking a candidate for the position of State Unit Operations. As a leader in the Sate Unit on Aging (SUA), this job requires working with the federal government, community partners, and supervising two team members. This role includes overseeing and monitoring OAA nutrition and disease prevention programs. The application is open to any State employees and external applicants. Candidates must be a registered dietician or a registered nutritionist in order to be considered for this position. Candidates should also have experience in mental health, aging populations, disability programs, and/or other related areas.

Creating Regional Networks to Promote Health and Well-Being: A Case Study on Evidence Based Programs from New England.

The report examines the multistate network of Area Agencies on Aging brought about a collaborative approach to deliver new evidence-based programs and maintaining community connection.

Support And Services at Home (SASH) Evaluation: SASH Evaluation Findings, 2010-2016

This new report from ASPE and HUD examines the Support And Services at Home (SASH) program from 2010-2016. The SASH program uses affordable housing properties as a method for delivering services to older adults and individuals with disabilities living in Vermont. The study used a mixed-methods evaluation to examine the effects of the SASH program on health care utilization outcomes, Medicaid expenditures, and Medicare expansion.

Priced Out: The Housing Crisis for People with Disabilities

This report documents the nationwide housing affordability crisis experienced by people with disabilities. The report discusses how in 2016, millions of adults with disabilities living solely on Supplemental Security Income (SSI) found that renting even a modest unit in their community would require nearly all of their monthly income. The report offers policy recommendations to address this crisis.

Report to the President and Congress: The Money Follows the Person (MFP) Rebalancing Demonstration

This report presents the findings and conclusions of this national evaluation of the MFP demonstration. The MFP Rebalancing Demonstration program launched more than nine years ago. There are 44 grantee states, and as of the end of calendar year 2015, grantee states had transitioned a total of 63,337 Medicaid beneficiaries from long-term institutional care to community residences and home and community-based LTSS.

State of the States in Aging and Disability: 2017 Survey of State Agencies

In 2017, ADvancing States administered a survey of state agencies that deliver LTSS, including aging and disability agencies as well as Medicaid programs, regarding the significant policy, fiscal, and operational issues occurring within each state. During the survey, we collected detailed information about the structure of agencies, the supports provided, and the populations served by state programs.

Fiscal Survey of the States: Spring 2017

The National Association of State Budget Officers has a semi-annual report, with data gathered from all 50 state budget offices, that provides a narrative analysis of the fiscal condition of the states and data summaries of state general fund revenues, expenditures, and balances. The spring edition of the survey of the states details governors' proposed budgets.
