Evaluation of the Effect of the Older Americans Act Title III-C Nutrition Services Program on Participants’ Food Security, Socialization, and Diet Quality

The 2017 evaluation of the Older Americans Act (OAA) Nutrition Program for the Elderly provides results and information on the impact of the program on the participants’ food security, socialization, and diet quality. Comparisons are drawn from the previous evaluation of the program conducted in 1995. This evaluation also serves to provide insight into areas needing further review.

2014 Eldercare Locator Data Report

The National Association of Area Agencies on Aging (n4a) released a report on the Eldercare Locator, a national information and referral resource, funded by the Administration on Aging, that provides assistance to older adults and caregivers. The report draws on data from the locator, breaking the data into different categories.The trends in this data reflect information gathered from 271,234 contacts made with the Eldercare Locator.

Scientific Report of the 2015 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee

This Advisory Committee report is open for public review and comment until April 8, 2015. The report describes findings from the Advisory Committee's review of the scientific evidence on diet, nutrition, and health, and will help inform the next edition of the Dietary Guidelines, expected to be released by the end of 2015. The Dietary Guidelines are updated every five years and directly affect all federally-funded nutrition programs.
