Technical Assistance

ADvancing interRAI offers technical assistance that a state may customize to meet their needs.  Forty hours of Basic TA are included as part of the ADvancing interRAI package, but states may also access supplemental Enhanced TA for support that is more intensive and goes beyond the 40-hour range.

Onboarding Support

ADvancing interRAI includes broad onboarding support, including evaluation of a state’s existing system, the collaborative development of recommendations, and assistance in creating an implementation plan.

History of Direct Care Careers

In early April 2020, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts partnered with Northeastern University to stand up a website that allowed facilities to enter information about their workforce needs into a database for workers looking to either volunteer or find paid jobs in institutions. The state was also able to access the information and easily assess where the highest need for staffing support across the state existed. Impressed by the Massachusetts model, ADvancing States wanted to provide it to all states and territories as part of our COVID-19 response.

Consumer Directed Services

Individuals that choose the consumer directed services (CDS) model for service delivery are encouraged on the Direct Care Careers platform. The person using CDS will fill out an account profile and can include optional information such as specifying the types of care needed, service schedules, and the Financial Management Services Agency (FMSA) used. The individual can also post jobs including a job description, requirements, minimum qualifications, gender and language preferences, types of care needed, and schedule.

Reports

States can use Direct Care Careers to help inform and identify where service gaps exist, running reports that show new profiles added, new job listings added, number of matches, number of trainings viewed, number of new credentials issued, etc. Reports can be self-generated by states weekly, bi-weekly, annually, or as needed.

Candidate Profiles

Direct service workers utilizing Direct Care Careers can locate employment opportunities, elevate their career path, acquire supplementary training, and access resources that facilitate continuous professional growth in the direct care sector. Job seekers fill out a profile page that includes their skills and experience, and can set specific preferences for location, hours, and types of care provided to ensure the jobs they are matched with will be appropriate and practical for that worker.
