2008-2009 National Core Indicators Annual Summary Report
The National Association of State Directors of Developmental Disabilities Services (NASDDDS) and the Human Services Research Institute (HSRI) released their 2008-09 National Core Indicators Annual Summary Report. NASDDDS and HSRI produced the National Core Indicators in collaboration with some state developmental disabilities agencies.
In this report, they provide data on state performance concerning individual outcomes, such as “employment, community participation, choice and decision making; health, welfare and rights covering personal safety, self-advocacy and use of medications; family outcomes, addressing information and planning, choice and control and access to support; and other dimensions such as staff stability and competency, and system performance”.
These indicators are expected to be used in conjunction with other quality measures, and are standardized and adjusted for risk. Many states use these data for their quality management strategy mandated for CMS waiver programs.
The report is available here. The results of the Consumer and Family surveys for 2009-2010 will be available on the same site by the end of February. Feel free to contact NASDDDS at (703) 683-4202 or HSRI at (617) 876-0426 with any questions.
