The National Association of States United for Aging and Disabilities (NASUAD) and the National Center for Benefits Outreach and Enrollment of the National Council on Aging (NCOA) are pleased to present a new, innovative case study, Alabama’s AmeriCorps Project – Leveraging resources to support increased community outreach and enrollmentThis case study examines how the Alabama State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) increased its capacity for benefits outreach and enrollment thanks to the recruitment of 13 AmeriCorps Members.

The AmeriCorps program has a natural synergy with SHIPs and the work they undertake.  Moving forward, the AmeriCorps program can assist states and their SHIP to reduce costs and improve efficiency and effectiveness. Limited hard copies are available from NCOA; please e-mail centerforbenefits@ncoa.org to request a copy.
