Integrating Ride Share Options for Medicaid Beneficiaries

Event Description: 

States have been innovative in integrating ride share options into their infrastructure to support individuals on Medicaid. Jami Snyder of the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS), will provide an overview of AHCCCS' process for adding ride share as a non-emergency transportation option within the Arizona Medicaid program. Ms. Snyder will discuss the need that prompted the addition of ride share, the parameters of the new provider type that was established to support transportation network companies/ride share providers and the protections that are offered under the provider type to ensure member health and safety as well as member privacy.    

Ms. Snyder serves as the Director for the AHCCCS, providing comprehensive health care coverage to 1.9 million Arizonans. Prior to her current role, Ms. Snyder served as the Deputy Director of AHCCCS and the Medicaid Director for the state of Texas. She has over 20 years of public and private sector experience in the health and human services industries.
